I have a page with a link like the following:

https://www.mydomain.com/myfile.php

When I click on it, Firefox tries to load something like

https://www.mydomain.com/~1897655/htdocs/mydomain/~1897655/htdocs/mydomain/~1897655/htdocs/mydomain/~1897655/htdocs/mydomain/~1897655/htdocs/mydomain/myfile.php

Of course, there is no such page, so I get a 404 error.

The original link mentioned above works fine in Chrome. When I mouse over it in Firefox, it is correct. It's only when I click on the link in Firefox that it changes the link to a much longer address.

I have already turned off enhanced tracking for the domain in question.

So why is Firefox trying to load a different page???

You can check the Network Monitor to inspect the HTTP request headers and the HTTP response headers.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
