Why won't Smartnews articles display on Firefox?

Today I started having a problem with Smartnews.com. When I click a news item link, it displays a barcode and asks to install the app on my phone. When I use Microsoft Edge, I do not have this problem - the article displays fine. Does anyone know what is going on with Smartnews.com? Thanks

I see get the same results in Firefox, Chrome, and Edge. see screenshots This site is clearly designed to be viewed in their app. You can mark this as resolved, there is no issue here.
