By entrusting my passwords to your browser, with Windows, Malwarebytes, Antivirus, someone hacked into all the passwords you were actually keeping. Do I need to go back to Chrome?

The only one that would allow such breaches is the user whom clicks on infected websites or bad email links or suspicious links to compromise the Browser. Chrome won't be any secure if you click bad/infected email or links.
