How Do I stop Firefox from Resolving www.facebook.com
I have put blockers in place (Layer 7 Firewall Rules, DNS dummy zones, etc.) yet facebook.com is still accessible from my Mozilla Firefox browser. How do I tell Firefox to use DNS like it's supposed to instead of some secret back-door into this Social Marketing rubbish? Microsoft Edge works just fine. I've not tried nor do I intend to use Google Chrome so that browser is not an issue. Just Firefox.
Is there some cache I need to clear in the infinite number of inane Firefox settings.
I would like to keep using Firefox if I can just tell it to do what I tell it. Uninstalling Firefox is killing a fly with a sledgehammer; and I don't want to do that.
Please help.

If your Firefox is configured to use DNS over HTTPS, then lookups may be bypassing your locally defined DNS. You could turn that feature off, or you could research how to create an exception.

Yes, setting up a hosts file works with DoH, but if you don't want to set up a hosts file, then disabling DoH or figuring out how to set up an exception would be needed.
