Firefox will NOT remember my setting to "ask to save logins and passwords"

I would like Firefox to "ask to save logins and passwords" I keep checking that option but it doesn't stay that way. What can I do? I keep going in to the option and it's unchecked. I don't see a "save the new setting" Argh. Driving me crazy.

Are you possibly using Sync ?

This can happen if have multiple Password Managers enabled at the same time, so if you have others like RoboForm or Trend Micro Password Manager then the builtin Firefox Lockwise Password Manager will be disabled.

If you have the "Trend Micro Password Manager" installed then uninstall this application via the Windows Control Panel.
