Chosen solution

Hi jack16, are you revisiting the sites?

Firefox will update the Most Recent Visit date/time when you visit the page again, which will change the order. If you need to look at a page without recording any history, one possible workaround is to use

right-click (or with one button, Ctrl+click) > Open in a New Private Window

Since history is not recorded for private windows, that will leave the order undisturbed.

Sorry I don't have a better workaround. Possibly there is an add-on that would make your history research easier.

What you could do is; ) If you access it a lot, create a bookmark. ) If you need it just for now, create a shortcut on the desktop.

When I am going thru browsing history using the Library I middle-click the URL in the right-panel to open that URL in a new tab. The Library window goes to the background and doesn't change my selected position in the history.

Yeah, it's a pain in the a$$ to have another window stay open, but at least the position in that window is unchanged,

Thanks Guys. I click on any URL and open in private window. This keeps my search history in the same position and I'm able to continue to scroll down without losing my place.
