I love Windows XP. I love the desktop analogy. I hate the cellphone analogy.

hi, you should not take the risk and continue to run an xp machine connected to the internet unfortunately. please look into migrating away from this sunset operating system as soon as possible!

Win10 can be made to look like Win7 again with a few minor tweaks without having to load program such as StartisBack to make it more friendly. So if I was you going W10 is more secure then staying on XP. XP is far past it's bedtime. I been using W10 since it came out but since 1709 and 1803 it has been a behaved child as before. The Cellphone analogy was more akin to W8 and Microsoft has learned from that debacle and shifted to a better not universal O/S but one that is more manageable if you know where to look and understand it.

I also have tons of legacy software like CorelDraw that I'm sure won't run on a 64-bit system. And I'm 74 and a professional writer who uses the computer 10 hours a day and the last thing I need is a new learning curve.

Windows XP is not safe to use online. You should either disconnect the Windows XP machine from the internet and use another machine for browsing the internet, or buy a new computer altogether that is more secure.
