Firefox (latest) blocks popups on many critical pages. I've tried everything online to avoid the issue, but it's useless. Works fine with Chrome. I have to log in to see the popups not working. Please advise

Are you using any blocking add-ons/programs?

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar,

Look for Block pop-up windows To its right, press the Exeptions button.

Hi, I did add the exception (also tried in security disabling the popup), removed my popup blocker and still doesn't work. Something must be wrong as it works fine with Chrome.

Hi, works fine with Chrome means nothing. 2 different critters.

Is there a Shield Icon to the left of the Padlock on these sites that you want the pop-ups from ? If there is a Shield Icon please click on that and adjust options you may have for tracking and reload the page.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

  • make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
  • check the Web Console for more detail about what content is blocked by Tracking Protection
  • "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
