the new mandatory update (or i wouldn't have) said it installed SuperTV, I don't want it, if it is built in and un-removable I guess I can start using a different browser, shame been with firefox damn near from the beginning, oh well, please advise.

Your system details show two suspicious looking extensions :

'Email 100.7' and 'Update 1.7' ........

Unless you installed those yourself :

Go to the 3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => Add-ons => Extensions and remove them.

Also take a look in Windows Control Center, to see if there is anything there that looks suspicous.

Then, just to be on the safe side, run the malware scans that are listed in this article :

Note: Please, don't fall for the 'advice' to remove SuperTV, giving by botcrawl.com, as this is a browser hijacker  !

How did this so called update occur?

No desktop Firefox Releases (or internal software updates by a .mar file) for Windows, Mac OSX, or Linux from mozilla.org like say www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ comes with this.

In last short while there have been reports of some Firefox users encountering the Fake "Firefox requires a manual update" page in which it installs a fake extension to infect Firefox.

These fake Firefox update extensions often with FF at start of name have been getting added to addons.mozilla.org/blocked/

below is a example of the Fake "Firefox requires a manual update" page.
