Firefox 58.02 64 bit keeps crashing! I believe the installation is somehow corrupted. Apparently firefox was doing an update in the background when my computer lost power.

I can't type barely a word or two into any search box, or data field of any web site and it CRASHES! I tried changing the search engine to Bing, Google, Duckduckgo It will crash even any data field of any web site. I had to type this entry into Notepad and paste it in because it Firefox kept crashing ON FIREFOX'S OWN SURVEY WEB PAGE! I have tried REFRESH. I have restarted in Safe Mode and started a new session. I have updated Firefox to 58.02 (64 bit) I have turned off "check spelling as you type, just in case it was that. No difference. I have done an uninstall, reboot, and reinstall. Updated my graphics driver per one forum sugestion

This is repeatable, every time. I have sent dozens of crash report with my email address and "allow mozilla to contact me about this report" checked off and still I have heard nothing.

Thanks for the great link on removing Digital Guardian, but I am not allowed to remove it.

Digital Guardian says: "Our engineering team is already working on releasing a hotfix for this issue, in the mean time they have provided us with a workaround which I have already applied to [my PC]".

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Let’s do a full clean re-install;

Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)

Loss of power can corrupt the hard drive. If there is a problem with any program after this, it would be best to remove that program and get the current full installer.

I have rebooted Firefox in Safe Mode and still experience the crash. Isn't Safe Mode the same as temporarily removing the programs?

Safe Mode only disables what is in Firefox. Those are protection programs and are run by the system.

The crash report after a Safe Mode crash only lists dgapi64.dll so I'm guessing it's probably not Webroot. I did not see Digital Guardian listed in the Windows Add Remove Programs, so unsure how to remove it.

What am I to make of this list you posted? Is this one of my many crash reports? Are you saying they are causing the crashes? Is it another crash report that is showing a similar issues? I do not see the dlls in your list highlighted in Red when viewing the crash report. As I mentioned, when in safe mode and I cause the crash, the crash report ONLY lists, dgapi64.dll.

Yes, the problem is still there. I am in the process of trying to locate another PC with Windows 10 Pro, and try installing Firefox 58

The crashes are caused by dgapi.dll file that is a software component of Digital Guardian by Verdasys. So you need to contact them for support.

You the crashes still happen with their software uninstalled then please provide new crash reports that aren't about this file (dgapi.dl) .
