Refreshed Firefox to fix a slowness issue, and all my tabs have disappeared. I copied the sessionstore-backups folder to my new profile but this did not help.

Hi! I refreshed Firefox to fix a slowness issue, and all my tabs have disappeared.

I first tried copying "previous" "recovery.bak" and "recovery" directly under the new profile, then later copied the three available upgrade.js files, as well. When that didn't work, I also copied the entire sessionstore-backups folder to overwrite the one in my new profile, but that also didn't work.

I don't really know much about browsers, I'm afraid, so I may have misunderstood some of the intructions I've read elsewhere. Anyone have any idea what I could have done wrong? I closed firefox before copying and then reopened it every time, btw. Thanks in advance!

You need to copy either the sessionstore.js file to the profile folder or copy a .js file from from the sessionstore-backups folder and rename the file to sessionstore.js.

You will normally find these files in the sessionstore-backups folder:

previous.js (cleanBackup: copy of sessionstore.js from previous session that was loaded successfully)
recovery.js (latest version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
recovery.bak (previous version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
upgrade.js-<build_id> (backup created during an upgrade of Firefox)

You can copy a file from the sessionstore-backups folder to the main profile and rename the file to sessionstore.js to replace the current file (make a backup copy of the current sessionstore.js).
