Background: Windows updated me to Win10. Did the revert back to Win7 (Home Premium) and things seem ok. Firefox reverted somewhat in look as well, which I'll fifure out. Biggest thing I noticed is that my ABP icon is gone from the 'toolbar' next to reload/ home.

Tried to get it again thru normal method in the add-on section and got the below pop-up error. Can anyone help me out here. Is ABP running and I'm just not seeing the icon? (it looks to e like the adds on SBNation are still blocked I think) but not sure what is happening.

Thanks in advance

Firefox could not install the file at

So first of all, your browser identified itself to the forum as Firefox 3.6.27, which is an ancient version. Let's try to sort that first.

How did you roll back from Windows 10 to Windows 7 and did you have to reinstall Firefox or did this get resurrected through a system restore?

And second, the add-on name in that address does not look like Adblock Plus. Are you sure you're grabbing this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

ok... that's not right is it? I was on v45 (I think)... seems like I opened an old version of firefox.

the windows rollback was done via the 'recovery' system as per instructions since win10 only installed itself on Friday (you have 30 days to roll it back)

Could you give me a win7 path to where my Firefox should be? I think it is "here" somewhere and I just launched this old version by mistake. When I just tried upgrading it it says I am up-to-date...

Thanks for the help so far!

Try here for 32-bit Windows:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

Well there ya go then.... Took a few seconds to figure it out... Firefox now back to 45.02 (lord knows how i messed that up) and everything now looks "normal" again.

Also, the Ad Blocker link you gave me worked like a dream and is now back up and running as it was before Microsoft took over my comp ....

Thanks very very very much for the assist there jscher!... Us non geek types really really do appreciate you nerds! (and I use that term in the best possible way!

Hi foow, to the right of your question there is a Question Details section with a link called More System Details that shows your browser's identification string. Not always the truth, but it's what we have to go on.
