Hi there,

Youtube gave me an "An error has occurred, please try again later" (translated freely from Dutch) since yesterday... So : this is what I tried already : 1. started with a fresh testprofile and that worked 2. restarted with my regular profile and started again in Safe Mode : that worked too 3. back again to Regular Firefox mode and disabling my addons in batches, trying to pinpoint the culprit... But strangely enough, disabling all of them manually (along with the plugins), didn't work 4. had a look at other threads and deleted the xulstore.json (after taking a backup of my profile of course) : still no luck

So : how is this possible? What does happen in Safe Mode exactly? Or can I try something else? thanks! /dimi

Chosen solution

Safe Mode also disables hardware acceleration. Note if that works then it may help if you update your graphics driver, or conversely try rolling back to an older one.

Your plugins are not listed. It may be worth noting one thing Firefox safe mode does not do is disable plugins.

Hi John,

Thanks a lot for the help and that background info! That was it : disabled the hardware acceleration and that worked. Updated my Catalyst drivers to the latest ones but that didn't work either.

But no biggie : tested 1080 playback and as that was fluent, it should be fine (I think) running Firefox with the hardware acceleration option disabled.

Thanks again!!! Sincerely appreciated! /dimi
