As per the article http://tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/more-trouble-for-airtel-injects-javascript-code-to-monitor-data-usage-activist-receives-notice-270111.html, my broadband provider is inserting javascript in the web pages browsed by me. I would like to block download and execution of Javascript from this IP address. is it possible to do so?

Have you tried the YesScript extension? It can block scripts by IP address (or domain name).

1. Add YesScript to Firefox. 2. Open Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) 3. Click on Extensions 4. Click on Options button for YesScript 5. Add the IP address

Might be possible to block that by using the Hosts file in Windows. Not sure if it works with the IP Address and /scripts/Anchor.js though. I never tried that fine of a block. And I haven't used Hosts in like 10 years or so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_%28file%29 http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/27350/beginner-geek-how-to-edit-your-hosts-file/ http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hostswin8.htm

Is there similar option for Firefox Mobile also? I have done this in desktop now and thanks for that.

I think using Windows Firewall and IPSec policies will work for IP addresses. Realized it after going through your response and further Google search. I am definitely going to explore host file option soon.
