Just got 8.1 and downloaded Firefox for 8.1 per Jayelbe's link in the FAQ's. no change in the way web pages are displayed. Bing loads slowly and does not show the image of the day. the picture scroll at the bottom of the page does show. Even Yahoo is weird. there are heavy lines between each email in the inbox and some formatting is gone. all this works fine in IE.

I think it came down to your suggestion that I check the color selection. Everything else seemed in order. For some reason I did override the auto color selection and when i changed the setting to never override the system - everything worked! Now I need to adjust something to get a little crisper view. Letters seem a bit washed out. thanks for the feedback.

Did you download and installed Firefox from the official Mozilla servers?

You can find the full version of the current current Firefox release (37.0.2) in all languages and all operating systems here:

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

Note that these settings affect background images.

You're welcome.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
