How to stop "Lost? Our server sentries tell us you probably shoudn’t be here. Maybe you’re lost? If you’re sure this is the place you’re trying to go, please

New Firefox gives that error message for some sites that I have accessed for a long time. Unable to get any explanation or details.

This is the complete err msg:

Lost?

Our server sentries tell us you probably shoudn’t be here. Maybe you’re lost?

If you’re sure this is the place you’re trying to go, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Note: the "support" link does not work. The same err msg is repeated.

One site that produces that err msg is http://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/ "WordPress.com - 403 Error" appears in the tab label.

Note: I can't contact the webmaster because Firefox won't let me go there.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
