I had my preferred search functions set, and I deleted the crappy ones, like yahoo and Bing, and you decided that since you had a commercial partnership with Yahoo, you would just override my preferences.

Mozilla set up the new search features to not change the user selected default search engine, only when the user didn't change the default away from Google. IOW, Mozilla respected the user setting, if they made one.
