I hate tabs, I want to "open in a new window". I used to be able to turn off tabs in the setting but that option is gone.

You can open links and bookmarks in a new window by either:

  • holding down the Shift key while clicking
  • right-clicking and choose Open in New Window

When pages code their links to open in a new window, Firefox will, by default, divert that new window to a new tab instead. To switch that:

  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tabs

It's the first checkbox, "Open new windows in a new tab instead". Can you find that option?
