How can i use buttons WITH their descriptions written underneath. version 29 doesnt seem to offer this option like the previous versions.

  1. Install Classic Theme Restorer and restart Firefox when prompted.
  2. Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
  3. Click the Icons+Text button near the bottom. Click the Exit Customize button when done.

If you absolutely don't want to install an add-on, you may be able to do the same thing with a user style. I haven't tested this method.
