Firefox 50/Windows 10 - no account setup menu item

more options

There is no item under Tools for an account setup and I can't find that item anywhere else in the menus. I have a connection to my router, but I can't find any way to make a connection to my ISP.

Firefox should use your existing Windows network connection, which typically is opened by Windows using previously stored information or using an icon on the taskbar (notification area).

What kind of connection do you have?

If it is open but Firefox says it cannot contact any servers, please check this article: Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can.

I guess my problem, then, is with Win10 (which I hate) because I can't set up a connection with Edge, either.

I just noticed that this computer with FF50 also doesn't have the menu item Tools/Account Setup that I was used to using for making and configuring my web connection. I suppose this kind of change makes sense for someone, like dumbing-down laptops and desktops to conform to the limitations of smart (sic) phones.

Thank you.

I missed that before. Tools > Account Setup doesn't exist in Firefox, but it is a menu item in Thunderbird, the email program. That would be a separate download:

Windows 10 is telling me that I don't have hardware for connection, so that's where the problem must be and it was only my faulty memory that sent me to the Firefox/Tools/ to look for an Account Setup menu.

Thanks for your help,

Frank

Hmm, is this a new PC or was it an upgrade? All recent computers have both an Ethernet port (for a wired connection) and a wi-fi adapter. However, maybe it jostled loose or is disabled for some reason. Probably best to find a Windows expert to help diagnose it.
