After importing bookmarks from Microsoft Edge browser to Firefox, the two browsers have folders with the same name in the same directory. Some of the bookmarks in the folders have the same website domain names. I hope that in the future, Firefox can automatically organize bookmarks from two identical folders into one folder and automatically delete bookmarks with duplicate domain names. This feature is available when importing bookmarks from Firefox using Microsoft Edge. I hope Firefox can also improve it. Thank you.

How can one search for bookmark-folders? (not a a bookmark contained by a folder) I have my bookmarks sorted in a tree-like structure via bookmark folders. It would be essential to me to be able to search for the folder in a search bar (like in the bookmark sidebar), since I have many folders/sub-folders.

Hello.

I use Firefox on an computer with Ubuntu, (installed as snap) and have noticed that since the update to version 140 (specifically, version 140.0 canonical-002-1.0), closing a tab causes a noticeable delay : that is, upon any action that would close a tab (clicking on the cross, pressing CTRL+w, or middle clicking), there is a delay of about 200 to 300 ms before the tab is actually closed.

However, during this delay, the window still responds to inputs, leading to rather annoying situations. For example, during regular usage, I usually open a great number of tabs. When I am done with browsing, I close them, by repeatedly clicking the cross button on the tabs. It used to be that the tab under the cursor would immediately close, then the next tab would slide under the cursor, and I would click again to close that one, etc.

But now, when clicking the cross button, the tab is not closed, and when I click again after a small delay (because of muscle memory), the tab is still there. This cause the two single clicks to be treated as a single double-click, which for some reason puts the window in full-screen mode (but only with the snap version; I'm not sure what's going on here).

When using CTRL+w when closing tabs, the delay is still there, but the inputs are correctly handled. If I press CTRL+w three times at the usual rate, I can see the three key presses, then nothing happens for a few instants, then the three tabs close at the same time (i.e. the delay is from input to tab close, not from tab close to other tab close).

This behaviour is completely absent on Firefox (also version 140) on my windows computer.

This delay does not appear when creating tabs, and it does not occur either when closing the window or when closing the last tab in the window (leading to an amusing situation where shutting down Firefox is actually faster then closing a tab). These operation keep going at their previous speed, immeasurably fast to the human eye.

Navigation does not appear to be meaningfully slower than before the update, and the CPU/memory usage is very reasonable.

Curiously, this appears to be a fixed delay. Closing an empty tab takes the same time as closing a very busy one. Closing a tab when there are five takes the same time as closing a tab when there are thirty.

This issue makes browsing feel incredibly sluggish.

Is there a solution for this problem ?

Edit 1 : I have tried to run Firefox in troubleshoot mode, but there was no difference in behaviour. Edit 2 : Fixed typo. Edit 3 : Added exact version. I also tried to refresh Firefox, but the issue remained. Edit 4 : The problem is still present in version 140.0.1 canonical-002-1.0. Edit 5 : The problem is still present in version 140.0.2 canonical-002-1.0.

I have a Mac - version MacOS High Sierra. I am an 'oldie'. I wish to add an additional email address in Mail {to enable me to register with a new Doctors Practice as well as my hubby] but cannot as I am told that the version is not secure enough. For years I have shared my husbands email address [neither of us are technically trained or minded]. I have attempted to update my Firefox version but cannot do so as my menu does not show the 'About Firefox' option from where I hope to begin. Can anyone please advise me how I can update Firefox plus add an additonal email in my Mail option. Fairly simple instructions would help. I would appreciate any assistance that anyone can give please.

After updating to newest Firefox 140.0.2 (64-bit) does all PDF attachment stop working it doesn't offer to save or open them as it used to, we tried sending a Doc document to the email and it will download them and open them so it is only PDF files.

I tried new profile with blank slate on her PC.

OS: Windows 11 Have Bit defender security and Malwarebytes

I also tried on my PC logging into the work email as neither me or wife use Apple and same problem PDF attachments will not open or work.

I didn't create a new blank profile on my PC.

My PC: Windows 10 Enterprise Have same Bit Defender security and Malwarebytes

It worked in 139.0.4 for her, but downgrading is not a option as if I read the downgrade page right it will make a new profile making her loose the profile she is using now.

Do anyone have any ideas why after the update does Firefox now not open PDF Attachments, we tried Edge and it work fine there, if she forward from the work email to her private which is a gmail account she can open the PDF files, but that is not a good way of doing things or acceptable as it is work emails sent from companies her boss work with, he is a car mechanic with his own mechanic business.

Please tell me what details you need from me to help her find out why it stopped working or anything else I can try.

The Work place is just her and her boss plus 1 employee so I help with the IT on the work computer so I need to find out why this update stopped PDF attachments from working.

Hi community,

Since the last Firefox update, I’ve noticed that many websites load as a blank white page on the first attempt. The only way to get the content to appear is by refreshing the page manually (Ctrl+R).

This happens randomly on both static and dynamic websites — sometimes even on Firefox’s own support pages. I’ve already tried:

Clearing cache and cookies

Disabling all extensions

Running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode

But the issue still occurs. No errors in the console either.

Is this a known issue with a recent update? Or could it be related to hardware acceleration, DNS, or caching settings?

Would appreciate any advice or similar experiences!
