Problem originates when trying to log-in to Spotify account at https://accounts.spotify.com. The next page in the log-in sequence, a Captcha screen, is blocked and a red bar under "Welcome back" is displayed with the text "Oops! Something went wrong, please try again or take a look at our help area" - see the attached screenshot

Clearing the browser cache, restarting Firefox, disconnecting a VPN, or disabling browser extesions had no effect. Enhanced Tracking Protection is set at Standard.

Clearing the browser caches again and running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode disabled all extensions but delivered the same outcome - a red bar and the next page blocked.

This appears to be specifically an issue within Firefox or its settings as Spotify is accessible using Edge (which I prefer to keep in the box) with the same extensions enabled and a VPN connected.

Is there a setting that is causing access to the Captcha screen?

When logged into Merrill Lynch brokerage account on my laptop I navigate to my stock listing to view my listings and all I see is the first column which lists the stock name. All other columns are blank (Cost invested, price per share, quantity, total worth, % increase etc) Merrill is telling me its with Firefox but I have never had this issue before. I have tried the online suggestion of clearing data and turning off Enhanced tracking protection with no fix. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you please enlighten me on the internal protocol FF follows when downloads are set to "Always ask you were to save files"? I want that dialog to always default to the previously used folder, but it only does that about 70% of the time (in my guesstimation). The rest of the time it randomly decides it doesn't want to do that and it will pop up the Windows Downloads folder instead.

Sometimes it will do that even right in the middle of a mass-download session where I'm downloading, say, 15 items, doing the right-click/save thing, and after 10 items in which the Save-to dialog has defaulted to the folder I want, it will suddenly decide that it wants to go back to Windows Downloads, and because I'm on autopilot with my keystroke routine, I might go through all 5 final downloads before I notice that it's not saving to the right folder anymore. This is EXTREMELY annoying.

What prompts my current post is that I've just started another session of about 10-15 downloads, but this time I'm five files in and FF is still refusing to default to my desired folder. It's not uncommon for it to take two tries before the folder I want sticks, but not five. It's now officially way uncool to continue navigating there every single damn time.

So please tell me why this happens.

And no, please don't recommend that I temporarily change the default downloads folder and just set it to permanently download there, then change it back to "Always ask" after each session. First, that's an unworthy kludge. Second, I always change the filenames of downloaded files--if nothing else, I always remove underscores or spaces to conserve filename length because I've been severely bitten by that limitation once too many times. Therefore I must use the "Always ask" dialog. It's why I don't usually use Downthemall, fab piece of software though it be.

You used to be able to view all of your synced tabs from other devices by going into the toolbar menu > your profile > the device name but I went in today to pull a tab from my phone onto my laptop and it only shows about 5 tabs total. You have to click "see all # tabs" which then opens in the sidebar of the browser. I hate the sidebar, it just does not work well with my brain/visualization needs, and have been doing everything i can to avoid it. Is there a way for me to revert the display settings of synced tabs specifically? As I use them frequently enough that I am going to have to look into changing browsers if I continue to have to utilize the sidebar

My laptop keeps freezing and I suspect Firefox is the reason. It's rather new, I have had it for about a month and half.

I initially thought it was a Windows update issue and updated it but after some experiments I noticed it only freezes when Firefox is open. It doesn't freeze when another browser is used or when am playing video games.

I am currently on Ubuntu and it still happens. It's really annoying and because of this I am still keeping my old laptop. Yesterday for example it happened at least thrice.

J'ai déjà essayé de désactiver accélération materielle et tout le tralala de l'intélligence artificielle à tester mais rien n'y fait . Si je reviens en mode normal sur une vidéo et remettre ensuite plein écran au bout de 2 ou 3 tentatives, la barre s'éfface mais c'est assez ennervant à faire alors que depuis plus de 20 ans cela n'était jamais arrivé . I keep having problems with Firefox hanging or disconnecting. I have followed all the steps in the [Hanging] page, and I still have to shut it down and restart it often, sometimes as much as several times a day. I also frequently have to force quit the browser, or I get a message saying "Firefox is open, but not responding" when I try to restart it.

Running Windows 10 (have extended security updates). Starting at version 153.0 Firefox hangs (spinning cursor) until Windows realizes it is not responding and lets me stop the program. Seems to be independent of the website (even happened on a Mozilla page). Have tried a couple of 153.xx updates and also 154 but behaves the same. On a Dell Inspiron 7570:

I have had the situation where the FF browser VPN extension has dropped out, the warning pops up, whatever programs are open cycle through and briefly steal focus and the last video I played in VLC has started to play, this has happened a few weeks ago on a Win10 that has extended suppoirt and today on Linux Mint.

So normally firefox uses a reasonable amount of ram but sometimes the amount of ram usage almost doubles, then if I try to change tabs the program freezes. I then have to wait for firefox to stop using the excess of ram and return back to normal levels.

I believe this mainly happens when I have youtube or reddit open but I have no idea how to fix this.

I have already tried reinstalling firefox and deleting/changing extensions. The current extension i have on is adguard adblocker and no others.

I have problems logging into a few sites with Firefox, but not with other browsers. What's up?

One prime example is Panda Express.

I have noticed in the last month or so a new phenomenon. I regularly need to access such platforms as Microsoft Ads, Google Ads and Google Analytics. Previously with my FireFox VPN turned on I had no issues. Now I cannot access these sites unless I turn off the VPN. I think there was a FireFox update not long ago. Should I be experiencing this issue or is there a resolution to this problem?

Firefox under Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon, will not let me input text. How can I get past this?

I am having to type into a text file, copy and paste to get information into a text box in Firefox.

Since the last upgrade, my Home Page has gone from "Classic" to "Smart Window" which does not contain all the tiles I have on the Classic Page. I love having all those tiles on my home page. I have to manually change the page whenever I start Firefox. I am very old (over 80) and not as computer literate as I could be but I don't have grandchildren who can help me with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Went on vacation and firefox updated to version 154.0 and now some of my websites won't get pass the login in says password dont match then changed the password still dont match. Called vanguard they said they I see you changed your password correctly not loading because of your browser which is firefox. I need this corrected how do I back out firefox version 154.0. internet redit also shows alot of people having the same problems.
