A message: "Mozilla Firefox seems slow... to... start" appears at bottom of browser. Is it legitimate? Or does my computer have some kind of infection?
It looks almost like a status bar message, except that at the right edge of the line it has two buttons: "Learn How To Speed It Up" and "Don't Tell Me Again", followed by an "x". Also, at the left edge (preceding the message) is a gray turtle symbol.
I'm running Firefox 24.0 on Windows 7 [the "About" screen also says says: Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)].

Hello tim0926
you are ok, no infection at all, if you want to disable the notification :
- In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
- Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
- in search field type browser.slowStartup.notificationDisabled (or copy/paste from here)
- double-click on it to make it TRUE.
you can choose also if you see the message Don't Tell Me Again
When startup is determined to be slow, tell users about ways to improve their startup time - please don't reply in bug reports, is for developers
thank you
