Ich brauche Hilfe beim wiederherstellen meines Profils, da das was angeboten wird nicht hilft!
I tried to restore my profile after a complete crash, but it doesn`t work. The restored files are in excellent condition at least this is what Recuva says, but after copying them into my new profile-folder, there are still no passwords or stored history to be found, My last hope is, that I found some data in C:\Users\heiko\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\fbuqz391.default. But I don`t know, how I can use these to recreate my profile, at least to some point, if not in all. I just have hope, that there can be some help, and I promise never to do again what I did. Sincerely yours Heiko
How can I add screen-shots? https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/media/uploads/images/2013-08-15-13-50-34-ea7df9.png https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/media/uploads/images/2013-08-15-13-51-18-dc1a2a.png Hope that worked

That is the location of the cache folder and some other files.
The main profile folder is in AppData\Roaming.
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
Hallo, my dear cor-el, thanks for trying to help me!!! The problem is, that after the crash my older roaming was erased. I have after reinstalling Mozilla Firefox a new folder with profile datas: named :fddd7p8t.default, but that`s all new and there is nothing from my history. That`s why I added the screen shot of :C:\Users\heiko\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\fbuqz391.default That folder contains 366 MB of data and as the date says, they are from before the crash. Is there a way how I can manage it, to add these to my actual Firefox profile and how ? My back-up didn`t work either, showing errors. Still hoping Best regards and have a good time Heiko
Unfortunately the data in AppData local is of no use because that is only where Firefox stores the disk cache.
If the folder in roaming is gone and there is also no "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop then you can try to recover (undelete) the Firefox profile folder and its files in AppData\Roaming with an undelete program like Recuva.
- Recuva: http://www.piriform.com/recuva
Thank you again, I ran recuva after I realized the damage and well, there was some datas which couldn`t be restored, so I collected at least those which it said were in good condition. But it seems, that all those I would need are gone. I have 2 more : one is called: https_addons.mozilla.org_0.localstorage-journal, date 23.06.2013, LOCALSTORAGE-JOURNAL-Datei (4KB9 and the other one is: Mozilla Firefox.lnk~RF1e6ab84.TMP (04.07.2013) TMP-Datei (2KB) Could one of these help? I think I have to use my on-board-brain-synapsis and try to rearrange it all by my memory or I try to find somebody working for the NSA... Thanks again and stay well Heiko (Germany)
Unfortunately those files are also of no use.
The only important files would be JSON backups (bookmarks-####-##-##.json) in the bookmarkbackups folder and possible SQLite database files and the signons.sqlite and key3.db for the passwords.
Most SQLite database files have a rather large minimum file size and usually do not restore properly.
Well, shit happens, and I´ll never again trust savings or securing routines and recoveries, which suggest that everything is copied. Finally I found some copies of bookmarks and passwords in older stored files, bringing back at least those from february this year and older, I thank you for all your help and I still regard firefox as preferred browser.
I can`t click on "solved the problem" , I mark it as "helpful" and I think we close the thread.
Once again, many thanks to you And my best regards Heiko1952
