I would like to have the bookmarks shown in a vertical window the way it used to be. Now I have to hit a dropdown and navigate to a bookmark. Can I revise this?

How can I get the bookmarks to reside in a vertical pane to the left of the main display? This is the way it used to be but I just don't seem to be able to get it back. I am using windows 8 on one computer and windows 7 on the other, both 64 bit.

{Ctrl + B} opens and closed the Bookmarks Sidebar.

Or, you can open Customize ... feature and move the Bookmarks button for the Sidebar from the palette to a toolbar, and then move the default Bookmarks button (with the drop-marker) into the palette to get rid of it.
