Can it be true that an update to 3.0.19 has now been downloaded and verified and is ready to be installed? 3.0.19 is 3 years old!
When closing a program I was working in, a little window came from behind it saying:
(in Dutch, but I’ve translated for you):
Firefox 3.0.19 ready to install
Firefox has downloaded and verified an important update. Click on the link below for meer details.
Update: Firefox 3.0.19 Details
Click on Restart Firefox now to install the update.
Click on Not now to close this dialogue window and to continue to work. Firefox shall install the update the next time you start.
Now I’ve looked for 3.0.19 on Google and found that this version is a couple of years old. So I am wondering if this update message really comes from you. Even stranger is when I tick on Details because then the following message from you appears:
Hmmm, we’re having trouble finding that one.
We hate to say it, but we couldn’t find that page or file you’re looking for.
* If you typed in the address, try double-checking the spelling. * If you followed a link from somewhere, please let us know at webmaster at mozilla dot com. Be sure to tell us where you came from and what you were looking for, and we’ll do our best to fix it.
If you’re really stuck, here are some other options:
* Were you looking for information about Firefox? * Or maybe our email program, Thunderbird? * It might just be best to start at www.mozilla.org.
Can you let me know asap if I can have the update installed or if something bad is going on.
I am working on an iMac with OS X 10.6.8. The Firefox version I have is 3.0.9 and I must say I don’t use Firefox very often, about once a month. Just today I did and I did not definitely close it yet and then this window appeared.

Firefox will update in increments when you use such old versions. The best thing to do is to go to www.getfirefox.com, and download Firefox 19.0.2. This is going to be much faster than updating to 3.0.19, then to 3.6, then 12, then 19 (which is the current process).
