I have installed Firefox 9.0 but now the favicons don't show in the Bookmarks menu. I get a blank space space where the favicon used to be. So, I have reinstalled Firefox 8.0.1. Any idea? Thanks.

Yep we just saw this. It only affects the bookmarks menu, not the bookmarks button or toolbar.

You can fix it for now with these steps:

  1. Type about:config in the location bar
  2. Click "I'll be careful, I promise"
  3. Type image.mem.decodeondraw in the search bar
  4. Double click the entry that comes up to change it's value to False.

That is hack, I'd say. There must be a downside to do that I guess.

Anyway, what is the rush Mozilla, no one is pushing for the new releases. What is the point to have the version numbers from 3 to 9 in just one year.

All we want is just a solid browser.
