As the question says, lately (in the past few days) Everytime I use firefox, it starts fine on start up, but once I start browsing the web, it becames in a (not responding) state. (Turning pale, loading icon, etc) and it does this about once every 20 seconds, or everry 3rd or 4th link click.

I'm afraid there is no magic button.

Conduit is a renowned troublemaker and Skype has been causing problems. You have several add-ons that I haven't heard of and it might be worth googling them to see if problems have been identified. The Search Firefox Help box above is a gold mine although it can involve a lot of digging.

As a starter, you could try disabling Hardware Acceleration - Options>Advanced>General>Browsing>uncheck "Use Hardware Acceleration . . ." If there is an improvement, your graphics card might need an update.

Going back to Fx3 is a very short term solution.

Why should an "improved" version of a program cause more trouble that the previous versions? Why should we have to go through all that troubleshooting?

Sound like its time to revert to I.E. Been using firefox for years (way back). With the recent update, I no longer can use VPN. I had to create a shortcut to use I.E. with Cisco VPN. Now it doesn't like Incredimail. I sent a help message and got a reply I should click on the link or they would ignore me. I clicked on the link. Sorry we don't know who you are. Hmmm. And how did I send the original help to them without signing on?

I find the hanging has now spread to my City of Heroes mmo. I get "pings" of 3000+ for 2-3 sec every 10 sec or so, very annoying. The FF update was the last change to my system. I hate the idea of moving back to IE due to the massive bookmarks i have to migrate over.
