why do i continue to be told to upgrade adobe flash?
every time firefox updates i get a big message saying my flash is out of date, but i have the latest one (for 10.4.11)) installed what am i not understanding?

The latest Flash version is 10.1 r85. If that version is not yet available via the Apple software update then you can ignore it for now, but you do need to keep an eye on it.
You should also update Java.
