Lost Thunderbird password. I wish to reset the password
Lost Thunderbird password. I wish to reset the pwd and I can generate a new strong password. I can find no specific support material directing me explicitly to do this. I would appreciate explicit instructions for this purpose.

To create a new password for an email account, you must use your email provider's website. Thunderbird does not have the ability to create new passwords.
I eventually found the password for my main Tbhunderbird account on another machine, and it now works. I'm afraid, however, that the password for my ISP does not work with Thunderbird, and there appears to be no explicit help for resetting a lost password.
If you can log into your email account with email provider, you should have an option to change password.
