Firefox's statement of "ENDING SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS 7" and SUGGESTS upgrade to NEWER MICROSOFT TRASH OPERATING SYSTEM
I have used Firefox literally since its inception. Do an enormous amount of streaming with it. As such I check for updates every time it's launched. My most recent update finished with an INFURIATING MESSAGE FROM MOZILLA STATING NO FURTHER SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS 7, and had the AUDACITY to suggest I transition to WINDOWS 8 OR NEWER OPERATING SYSTEM. Since when did Firefox/Mozilla start sucking up to bill gates and his band of fools? Get this straight now and FOREVER, I WILL NOT NOW, TOMORROW OR EVER INSTALL WINDOWS 8 OR HIGHER ON ANY MACHINE THAT I OWN. No one can justify why microsuck insists on an INTERNET CONNECTION TO PLAY A GAME OF SOLITARE!! Microsuck insists on creating an account to access the trash filled microsuck app store. It ain't happening as long as I have a pulse. If Firefox organization want to buddy up with microsuck, HAVE AT IT!! I'll NOT follow the advice. To hell with microsuck AND those that push their trash down the publics throat. I'll quit using their browser. I ONLY post HERE because the miserable pricks don't offer a way to contact them directly. Feel free to criticize and slash away at my intelligence. I got broad shoulders and a BIG backside. Microsuck and their faithful followers can kiss them both.

Chrome (and Chromium) already dropped support for the old old End Of Life (EOL) Windows 7, 8, 8.1 as of Chrome 109 released back in January https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7100626?hl=en as Chrome 110 only supports Windows 10 and later.
Mozilla on the other hand will be supporting the old EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1 with Firefox 115.0 ESR (Extended Support Release) for a good while still as 115.7.0 ESR for example is scheduled in Jan 23, 2024 and will likely go to 115.15.0 ESR as 102.15.0 will be the last version for the 102 ESR. Normally ESR is meant for Enterprise users in mind however with the EOL Windows as in past this has allowed users to still have Firefox with security fixes for a good while still.
For example Mozilla supported the then old EOL Windows XP and Vista for over two years longer (with Fx 52 ESR) compared to Chrome, Chromium, Opera, Edge, etc yet WinXP users were still not happy with Mozilla not supporting for years longer.
Linux of course is a option to continue using current Firefox Releases for some more years on the old hardware.

It should be stating you will need Windows 10 or later as Firefox Release starting 116.0 and later will be dropping support of the old EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-users-windows-7-8-and-81-moving-extended-support
macOS users using the old EOL macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 are also going to be served the Firefox 115 ESR as Fx 116 or later will require macOS 10.15 at minimum. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-users-macos-1012-1013-1014-moving-to-extended-support
One again Mozilla Firefox is going to be the only major web browser to still support EOL Windows the longest like they did with WinXP/Vista.
