How can I set the browser (ver 31) to be ontop of Windows 7 Toolbar? Earlier versions had a setting, but I don't find it now.
I want to be able to utilize the whole monitor screen with Firefox in Windows 7 and cannot do that anymore with these newer versions of Firefox. (Probably the fault lies within the lame operating systems from Microsoft (Windows 7/8/?)!!!!!!)
Been an avid fan of Mozilla since '95 and it seems far more difficult to maintain the 'comfort zone' with each newer browser version. Good stuff seems to get tossed out, in my humble opinion!

In order to use Firefox on top of the Windows 7 toolbar you can use full screen or autohide the toolbar.
Use Firefox in Full Screen on Windows:
Autohide task bar:
- Right click on the desktop and click Properties.
- Task Menu and Start Menu Properties > "Autohide task bar"
Was this what you were looking for?
Not what I want, but thanks for the suggestion.
What I want is for the Firefox browser to be on top of the windows taskbar without going to the full screen with Firefox. I prefer that the windows taskbar to be at the top of the monitors screen and when Firefox opens now, its under the taskbar. I then have to unlock the bar, move it, pull the browser down and then reset the taskbar at the top of the monitor.
Don't like the "pop-up" windows when the taskbar is at the bottom of the monitors screen. "Drop-down" works much better for my use.
NOT a fan of widows 7 and won't touch 8!!!!
There used to be the option of "On-top" with Firefox that now seems to be gone.

I wonder if it is a corrupt localstore file if it was doing this before:
- "3bar" menu > Question mark icon> Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
- Switch back to Firefox and Exit
- Rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old.
- Restart Firefox and see if this still happens.

I know exactly how you feel!!
With version 34 some idiot(s) decided to force all of us to use the Yahoo! search engine. Worse, they removed the freedom to choose which search engine that we want to use from a dropdown associated with the "Search" field. I had a list of about 10 search engines because not a single one of them, even Google or Bingo, can find everything.
Now some fools thinks that their preferences should overrule the choices of millions of Firefox users. Given their choice, one has to wonder whether someone was bribed to advocate and adopt this dictate. Mozilla is now governed by a bunch of control freaks. Is it any wonder that the number of Firefox users is steadily declining?
