Hello I have six Orange.fr email accounts linked to Thunderbird. I can download and send emails from five of them and until recently also the sixth one. However since yesterday I get this message for this one account only "Sending of password for user ........@orange.fr did not succeed. Mail server pop.orange.fr responded: Authentication failed". Nothing has changed on this account. I have tried putting the password in again, but still get the same message Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

All I can suggest is to check that you have six SMTP servers defined. When people report problems similar to yours, that is often the issue. If there are indeed six smtp servers, check each account to ensure they are properly assigned to account.

Hi David Thank you for your reply. Out of frustration I went into my Orange.fr account and changed the password on this particular account. Voila Thunderbird is now busy downloading the emails. It maybe that somehow the password had become corrupted?? I don't know if that's possible, but with a new password it's working
