I intended to add a new folder (the 4th item from top on far right. I didn't pay attention ended up creating not only the wanted folder but an unwanted inbox and trash (items 2 & 3 on far right). Can I delete this new inbox and trash? If so, how?

Right-click the unwanted folder - Delete

This may work for folders but not inboxes and trash on MacOS 10.14.6. One has to find the Library folder which is hidden in this OS and once that is available, dig around and delete the unwanted inbox and trash.

Most Mac owners do not realize that Apple has hidden the Library folder to keep the owners from deleting stuff they shouldn't.

I finally figured it out for myself.
