I am currently using the Samson Go Mic (USB), however this issue happened with my previous generic, 3.5mm jack microphone.

My microphone works perfectly fine in desktop programs such as Teamspeak 3, and Audacity: https://a.pomfe.co/occadh.png

It also works when it is being picked-up by Adobe Flash on websites such as: https://toolster.net/mic_test This applies to both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

But it doesn't work when it's being picked up by an HTML5 method, such as https://onlinemictest.com or when trying to contribute to Mozilla's Common Voice project.

This is the same on my current profile, a fresh profile, and previous versions of Firefox. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Please check this from Samson Support site. http://www.samsontech.com/support/samson/howto/view/making-sure-samson-drivers-are-installed-and-date/

Note : If Motherboard Drivers are not up to date you may have issues in the future. Check Manufacturers Website after Find Make and Model or use CPU-Z to find the info. Check if any drivers are left to get since is late in life and Support takes them down. You can use a Driver Update Program but that also comes with risks.

This might be the solution :

The usual behaviour is for pages to ask for permission and for Firefox to drop down a panel from the left end of the address bar to get your confirmation. If you don't see that panel, you can try using the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog. Here's how:

While you are on the page that you want to have permission, call up Page Info using any of these:

right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Permissions
(menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions
click the padlock or "i" icon to the left of the site address, then the ">" icon, then More Information > Permissions

Scroll down to "Use the Microphone" and uncheck the "Use default" box; a bullet should appear in front of "Always Ask". Click the permission you prefer, presumably "Allow".

Changes you make in this dialog are saved as you go, so after making the change, you can close the dialog.

Does that work?

Note that some sites may use the Flash plugin for audio. The plugin notification icon would appear at the left end of the address bar and looks like a small Gray Lego block. If it you see it there, click it to check whether the page has permission to use Flash.

Note : Your Flash is out of date update to : Flash Player Version: 27.0.0.183 https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Note : Firefox 56.0.2 is current release Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
