My Thunderbird email menu bar has disappeared, I press alt and f10 and nothing happens

Seems like from one moment to the next my top navigation bar has completely disappeared. I read some of the help forums that suggested pressing the "alt" and "f10" keys to bring it back, however that did not work in my case. The odd thing is that when I click on the white area where my navigation bar should be, I'm immediately thrown off of Thunderbird. I also tried quitting and restarting TB and that didn't help either. Screenshot attached, please help! Thanks!

Alt or F10, but not both together.

Try right-clicking the title bar; hopefully you'll see a pop-up menu offering checkboxes.
