Why has Tb started putting (bulk) infront of my messages?

Recently my messages have been shown as (BULK) infront of them and I seem to have numerous messages not wanted which would normally go to spam messages /notifications from facebook are showing as (bulk)

Thunderbird does not use the word Bulk or Spam and it does not change or append the subject line. I suggest that you look at your email providers bulk mail filtering or your antivirus software for the cause.
