re: OAuth2 Authentication for Yahoo, AOL and ATT

My settings selections don't really follow your help descriptions to the letter,so..., also, I already have 2 accounts on 2 platforms and they seem to already be configured with SMTP outging servers using OAuth2.

I'm confused since I'm now on 140.8.0 and have not needed to change a thing, contrary to expectations set from T-bird app popup warning and Mozilla article.(?)

I already have two Exchange email accounts using Exquilla that were created in earlier T-bird versions, they work in the latest version as well. I am trying to add a third exchange account, I enter the email and password do auto discover and get the following error; Invalid or missing password: password does not exist in the directory for this user. Trace ID: b2766d8c-6b02-4879-ab77-e30177281600 Correlation ID: 220ef2bd-c4b2-42a9-9414-d4f7bc0dae35 Timestamp: 2026-03-06 02:43:34Z

An Autodiscover site was found, but we could not find a usable entry. This is probably because your server does not support Exchange Web Services (EWS). If your server does not support EWS, then ExQuilla will not work for you. If you believe this to be in error, try manually entering the EWS URL.

I know the message is wrong since I have two accounts that function. I have gone through the manual configuration as indicated online and still have no success just says "URL test failed". I was hoping this latest version would have another way to be able to enter information to get around the failure. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

I had a Gmail address set up in Thunderbird on my old computer (Win 10). I had to get a new computer with Win 11. I have my Earthlink addresses set up okay.

But I've been unable to properly set up the Gmail address. I enter all the information, but the account vanishes from T-bird. All I have in Thunderbird is a Thunderbird Tab with Google info. It's a full page which might not come out clear with a screenshot, so I'm copying what's on this Tab ....

I cannot seem to get Thunderbird to successfully connect to my email server on Network Solutions. Neither POP3 or IMAP works. I added an autoconfig of mail.<domain.ext>.netsolmail.net but this did not work. I am using the recommended ports and SSL/TLS settings. I can see from the Thunderbird Tools->Activity Manager that the connection is being refused. I can log into the mail account directly through the Network Solutions web access process. I used to just use a .forward on this account, but now I would like to set it up as my primary email server. Maybe there are other advanced settings on NS that need to be changed. Anyone know if there is something I am missing? I have changed the autodiscover to the autoconfig above in the CNAME and have map, mail, pop and smtp set to values recommended by NS. Do I need to add back the autodiscover setting perhaps? Many thanks for any suggestions.

I'm managing multiple email accounts in my Thunderbird installation. (Note: NOT multiple Thunderbird profiles, but things like a Gmail and an Outlook account under the same Thunderbird profile). I'm trying to remove an email account from the Account Settings menu, but clicking the red "Delete" button does nothing. I've opened up the Error Console/Developer Toolbox, and when I click the Delete button, the following error message gets logged:

``` Uncaught TypeError: can't access property "incomingServer", currentAccount is null AccountManager.js:894:18
   onRemoveAccount chrome://messenger/content/AccountManager.js:894
   oncommand chrome://messenger/content/am-main.xhtml:1
```

A screenshot of the menu is attached. Note that the "Account Name" field also stays blank for whichever account I choose, despite all of them actually having names and showing up in other locations in the application.

My work email provider, which hosts about 30 individual email accounts, returns the following when queried for quota:

a GETQUOTAROOT INBOX

QUOTAROOT INBOX Mailbox "cPanel Account" QUOTA Mailbox (STORAGE 1198939 2097152) QUOTA "cPanel Account" (STORAGE 24913212 26214400)

"Mailbox" is the individual account (at about 50% usage) here and "cPanel Account" is the whole server (at about 95%).

Thunderbird receives that data then uses the last one received for it's display (the overall server quota) which is confusing for users who expect to see their individual quota.

Is there any way I can either:

  • tell Thunderbird to use the first QUOTA value ("Mailbox)
  • intercept that response and strip out the "cPanel Account" entry before Thunderbird UI sees it

I can't get the response from the mail provider changed, I've already asked that.

Thanks, Dave.
