A category (Daily Brain something) of emails that are clearly spam (you even think they are spam) are landing in my Inbox every day. I have my email set to not allow emails from any addresses that aren't in my book. If I follow their 'unsubscribe' link, I just get more of them. This is the latest one: ar849137@ocotille.com with a Reply To address of: 3527_rep_Y2pnZGVzaWduc0BlYXJ0aGxpbmsubmV0@ocotille.com Every one is different. Why are these getting through? Thanks Cary

I don't want all the raw code included in my reply/forward, just the readable text in a format similar to the original. GMail handles this with no issues, so how can I get the same in Thunderbird? Thanks.

Have not been able to receive email on my primary account (I have 3 accounts) for 3 days now. Windstream has been no help and seems to have lost hundreds of important files. My 2 other accounts work fine. HELP!

While importing a Gmail account, I ended with three Trash folders, only one of which I could delete. Trash goes automatically into the top folder, but bottom one says it's a system folder and can't be deleted. How do I consolidate into the one that Trash automatically goes into, which should be the top one, please?

Thunderbird is displaying the wrong name in the from or correspondents columns in some of my emails. The displayed names that are wrong are from other emails received. For example, one email in the from column is displaying Nancy, but the email is from Grainger with a different email address. I have received emails from Nancy but she is not affiliated with Grainger. This issue is happening with many, but not all, emails. A name displayed in the from column that has nothing to do with who sent the email.

Hello, Previously, I had my email with Xfinity, but they stopped this service and set us to Yahoo Mail. I’ve had no luck in setting it up in Outlook, so I tried Thunderbird and encountered the same problem. I have Windows 11. I’m using the IMAP settings recommended by Yahoo. During the setup process, everything checks, but when it asks for an address, which is from Xfinity, and a password, which I’m not sure they’re asking for so I tried the Xfinity, Yahoo, and Mozilla passwords. I get the authentication error on each attempt. Help! Thanks, Parris

Thunderbird 148+ on Windows 11 repeatedly prompts for the password when synchronizing an Exchange account (professional) configured with the native Exchange support (no add-on installed).

The account only offers “NTLM” or “Normal password” authentication methods. OAuth2 is not available in the account settings.

During synchronization, Thunderbird asks for the password separately for many folders. However, clicking “Retry” usually works immediately without changing the password, and manually re-entering the same password also works.

The issue then reappears for the next folder, causing continuous authentication prompts (I have many folders...).

Actions already tested:

• deleting saved passwords and tokens,
• deleting/renaming key4.db and logins.json,
• restarting Thunderbird,
• recreating the account.

The problem persists.

This looks like an authentication/session handling issue rather than an actual invalid password.

A folder (Local Folder) shows that I have 20 UNREAD messages. I don't care about them and want to mark them all as READ right away, so I right-click on the folder and select “Mark all folders as read,” but NOTHING happens! I search for the “unread” ones, it finds them, I select them all and right-click, but no options are available! What’s the point of the search and multiple selection in this case?

Please either tell me how to do this in a single step or fix these usability bugs.

Been using outlook since 2000, I am tyrin to cut the umbilial cord to outlook as it is craper each year that passes.

Can i have more than 1 sig as i use maybe 10 different sigs for different reasons?

I see a use file do i get to choose a differt file when inserting sig or am i stuck with one and have to manualy change file or copy from somewhere else.

Once i get Thinder runnin i wil be happy to support on a monthly basis but i need to se if ti will suffice.

Hi Team, I right click on a message header and select "mark as spam" which then deletes it but it will let another message from the same place in at a later date, is there a way to have the messages I mark as spam go straight to the spam folder?

Exported ical file from Google Calendar and then went to import into Thunderbird. This previously worked in the same installation. The import failed and the error console displayed the attached message. Restarted Thunderbird. Calendar showed ready and is not read only. Same problem.

Every time I send a message, it duplicates itself. Any help in removing this problem in the settings will be appreciated. Please keep in mind I'm not that savvy with settings so if you can keep this simple like me, that would be great. I'm using version 151.0 64-bit on Windows 10. Hopefully someone be able to help me resolve this problem.

Hello. Something strange happens in my emails. I read and/or delete an email and then at the bottom of any saved emails, the following shows up: no "from", no "subject" and no "recipient. It only shows 12/31/1969 5:00 pm. It is almost impossible to delete it. If I am lucky, it might finally disappear after closing Thunderbird and starting it again, several times. Becoming very much a nuisance. Thank you.

Gidday I have been using Thunderbird for sometime and recently had to re-install the program so now I have the latest version of it installed but the program isn't removing the emails from the server. I can't locate the "delete from server" setting anywhere in the options. I have searched everywhere for an answer here and on the iterweb so would appreciate if someone could provide help please. cheers col

When I try to access my email on Thunderbird, I keep getting the same message: Login to account "jayoung3@icloud.com" failed Login to server imap.mail.me.com with username jayoung3 failed.

I changed my password but I still can't access my email. And I have an account recovery code (which I don't know how to use).

Hello all After a Thunderbird update, a folder named "thunderbird" was created in my Personal folder. This folder is empty. After deleting the folder, it is recreated when Thunderbird is restarted. How do I get rid of this folder? Alternatively, what does this folder contain, and how can I move it to a different location?

At the start of last week Thunderbird started to be very laggy to the point it is almost unusable.

It was after the update to version 151. Running on MacOS Sequoia

I have tried a number of remedies to try and resolve the issue:

• Compacting mail folders
• Repairing mailboxes
• Clearing the cache
• Rebuilding the search index
• Restarting in trouble shooting mode (this caused Thunderbird to hang)
• I also tried installing the daily build release to see if the issue was resolved

None of the actions above solved the problem. I would very much appreciate any help or experience others have had.

I get several daily email newsletters. I've set up a separate filter for each of the senders to move all these incoming newsletters to a local folder. I've attached a screenshot of one of the filters, but it's pretty straightforward: Move the email to the local folder, then stop filter execution.

Sometimes, but not always, it seems to run twice, and puts two copies of the newsletter into the local folder.

Note that the filter for "Morning Brew" and "Axios" have the stop execution step, while the filter for "1440" does not. The same behavior seems to happen (again, occasionally) for each filter, with or without the "stop execution".

I have had to buy a new desktop to get Windows 11.

I have installed Thunderbird, which I have used for many years, on the new computer. This version threads the incoming emails. I really hate my emails being threaded, it completely confuses me and prevents me doing what I have to do. I have not had this problem ever before. I have searched all the settings and not found any that will stop threading. Because the effect of threading seem permanent I now need all my emails reloaded to get rid of the effects threading.

I uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled hoping I could get a fresh start. I got the same old problem back again.

How can I get a version of Thunderbird that does not thread any of my emails ever?

And can I get all my existing emails re loaded?
