Hello,

let me tell you that I have a few hundred email filters defined, and they (almost all) work fine.

There are three filters that cause problems, and it looks like the problem sticks to the sender.

Let me expand: FAZ, REWE, and Campact cause problems. Two out of three emails from these senders can't be moved to the target folders. I get a pop-up messeage telling me that I have to repair the folder. I do so, and a few days later the same problem comes up. Just for these three senders.

I searched all folders for filters for these three and removed all filters I could find.

Then I created a new folder as a child to the inbox folder, and a new folder inside of this folder to hold emails from FAZ. I defined a new filter rule, as the old ones were removed. Worked for a few emails, and, voila, the message pop-up came again, telling me there are problems moving the email over to the (new) target folder.

Let me repeat: all other filters work fine, just emails from these three senders cause problems.

Any idea where I could have a look, a switch to check?

One last information/idea: all three have different email addresses they send from, I will check the ones that do not work, maybe there is a clue.

I am using POP3/SMTP, not IMAP.

Hoping for a tipp, a clue, an idea -

Georg

On the 20, of October I was forced to re install Windows 10. Kept my data but I had to re install all my apps. With Thunderbird I follow the same procedure I used with Firefox: After installation I copied the profile folder from my backup and replaced the new one. That worked out well. With Thunderbird, I followed the same procedure, all my emails where there but not my local folders. I am attaching several snapshots to illustrate my steps. Image 1 "local folders now" Image 2 "Profile Folder". (why there are 2 sub-folders)? Image 3 "Mail in the profile folder" Image 4 " List of folders in my Local Folders" The are there, how do I get them back on Thunderbird in the correct place "Local Folders"? Thank you for your help again. Regards Ilio Pieroni

Hi, I'm unable to extract the emails using the ImportExportTools NG add-on. I tried right-clicking on the local file under Local Folders, using the ImportExportTools NG > Export All Messages to Folder > CSV Format steps. However, after loading emails partially, I am getting the following error code repeatedly. Can you please help understand what is the issue and how to resolve this? I have 62175 emails that I need to export.

I have installed Thunderbird on a new computer and copied my profile from the old computer as per instructions on the Mozilla site. However on the install on the new computer the LOCAL FOLDERS, sub folders which I use as archive storage do not contain the messages as per the my old computer. The sub folders are named correctly.

I have attached photos of the sub folders from the old computer showing data in the sub folder and also the new computer showing no data.

Please advise how to retrieve the data for the new computer.

I have an email account with BlueHost, which also hosts my web domain. A couple weeks ago I stopped receiving emails and contacted BlueHost tech support. The agent had no clue why I wasn't receiving email. She said "Can you please click on acocunt actions and remove the account and re-addd it. [sic]" I did that, and I was again able to receive emails. But then all my old emails -- sent and received -- had disappeared. BlueHost was able to restore my Inbox emails back to May 19, but was not able to recover any Sent emails. I have a backup of my Thunderbird directory from April, but would like to recover all of my old emails, which apparently still exist because my current Thunderbird Profiles directory contains files corresponding to deleted email folders. For example, my Inbox had a subfolder -- call it ABC -- that was deleted and is no longer visible in my Inbox, but I can find files ABC (no extension) and ABC.msf in my Inbox.sbd folder. My Sent.sbd folder also contains files ABC and ABC.msf. These folders are in C:\Users\aaa\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\aaa.default\Mail\mail.aaa.com (with "aaa" representing my personal identifiers). mail.aaa.com contains files Inbox, Inbox.msf, Sent, and Sent.msf, which seem to contain my old emails. (Inbox is 132,151 KB and Sent is 289,829 KB, and the file dates are from a couple weeks ago, when I removed and re-added the email account.)

Is there a way that I can recover the old emails?

Hello, I have marked a number of emails as junk in the Suspected Spam folder. Why are they not immediately moved to my junk folder? Or do I have to move the marked emails there manually? Or is it better to delete them manually immediately after marking them?

Thunderbird upgraded itself to version 140.2.0esr (64-bit). I also got a new browser tab for Thunderbird 140 Eclipse. However, now Thunderbird will not receive any new emails. I can see that they're out there via my mobile phone. I don't get any kind of message when I try to receive emails. It's as if it's totally ignoring my request. I have two email addresses - it will not work for either.

Additionally, I am able to send emails out to a gmail address. So the only issue seems to be receiving emails.

Specs: - I have a Windows 11 laptop. - I'm using POP3 (I know, my friends are giving me crap. But I want to keep my emails on my laptop, not on the server. I'm old school that way.).

I've tried requesting emails the following ways: - Hit F5 - Click on File | Get New Messages for | All accounts - Click on File | Get New Messages for | Current account - Click on File | Get New Messages for | <choose the individual account>

I've tried the following to resolve the issue, without success: - I saw online where someone mentioned a bug with the new version. They suggested creating a default account. I already had a default account, but changed it in hopes that it would help. However, it didn't. - I deleted the global-messages-db.sqlite file to try to rebuild the profile (this was also suggested online). The rebuild was successful, but I still could not receive emails.

Can you help me? Thanks very much!

I have been using Thunderbird to download my mail from Yahoo for a long time without incident. Now I keep getting the message "Edge: Too Many Requests" as a response when trying to download my email messages (see attached file). I waited 24 hours and then tried again but still get the same message. I am able to log on to Yahoo on my desktop and see my mail without a problem. Is there something that needs to be cleared or reset in Thunderbird? My other email accounts in Thunderbird work fine. Any ideas would be helpful.

My Gmail is still downloading but I have to check my Yahoo Mail via a browser. What gives? Why did this happen in the first place?

I have Windows 11, I've updated Thunderbird.

I’m on a Mac using the Sequoia OS (not ready to update yet to Tahoe). I recently left Microsoft Outlook, my e-mail client for years, because of all the crashing and when I would update, all the stored e-mails disappeared. I am now using Apple Mail and the export function doesn’t work most of the time. Apple tech support did some things that told me they are automatic backups, but I can’t see them.

I use Thunderbird on an old PC and would like to also use it on my Mac. However, when attempting to import, it starts and finishes in about one second, importing nothing. The files are in .mbox format. What am I doing wrong trying to import these files?
