Since the last update the following error occurs: If I delete individual entries in the browser history, they don't stay deleted, hey are back after a while.

Is this a bug?

The Android App won't allow me to find specific items from history (e.g. i wanna visit chatgpt.com, but all suggestions offer me chatandgo VENEZIA when typing chat) and delete them. There's no way I can scroll so much history just to find specific items to delete. Method for deleting all history or for last hour makes no sense. See the attachment. Thank you.

This is a new issue, starting yesterday, 09-30-2025. When I went to delete some (NOT all) websites in my browsing history, and after using the X to remove said websites, and then when that didnt work, I pressed on the website & hit the delete tab... thinking I had deleted all I had wanted deleted, then went back into my history to make sure they were removed, and I discovered that ALL of my "deletions" were back, and, in fact had "children". There are over 180 deletions that are back in my history. They keep growing! I've tried 5 different times to delete those that I longer want in my history to no avail. What has happened here? Thank you for your assistance with this frustrating issue.

Recently, after I manually delete selected pages on Firefox browser History, those pages keep coming back in History after I close and then reopen Firefox browser. I have not changed any settings. This just started a few days ago. I have always manually deleted History and/or selected pages and not had this problem before. Thanks for your assistance.

Firefox keeps restoring deleted history on my cell phone.This option is not available to me in settings: To prevent Firefox from restoring deleted history after a closure or crash, disable the "Open previous windows and tabs" setting in Settings > General under the Startup section. Also, about:config does not work on my cell phone.

The Firefox mobile app for Android won't let me highlight more than one word when I hold down to select and copy text. Within the last week, tabs I delete from history reappear the next time I open my browser history.

Since the 143.0 update, when I delete links I no longer want in History, they all come back the next time Firefox is opened. Any help with this little problem will be appreciated. Thanks, Roy I have a Samsung S24 running Android 15 with August update.

Hi, I dont understand the new improvements since the default tab is no longer private and i cannot follow the google tips, as I miss thr history options. My version is

Long pressing the Android back button on the navigation bar no longer displays the tab's history on Firefox Android.

As of a few weeks ago I no longer get tab history by a long press on the back arrow. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you.

Recently (a couple of months ago) a "standard" feature shared between Desktop and Mobile suddenly stopped working on my Android, and this cripples the use of many "secure" websites.

We could click-and-hold, long-press, call-it-whatever, the Back button and instead of trying to go back one page Firefox would show a screenful of pages, like clicking the drop-down next to Back on the desktop version. I could click on the bottom link, then immediately hold again and go back another half screen, and in two clicks go back probably 70 pages.

Why has this essential functionality been removed? How do we get it back? Can I roll back to a specific browser version just before it was removed?

This function is so core to my effective use of Firefox that I would choose it over any notional "security" or "stability" enhancements from having a later version.

Examples of why this is *not* a trivial problem--

On a banking or government logged in site, going back several pages (say, to before the login pages) is critical to continue reading the information you were reading when your session timed out (when the alternative is either try to click Back quickly several times but end up at the login page again, or spend half an hour following the obscure links to try to remember how you found the information in the first place).

On a shopping site, having gone to the checkout and emptied your basket, if you need to go back and place a second order for things you've just been looking at but did put in your basket, it is critical to be able to go Back multiple pages to skip over the payment security screens, otherwise most shopping sites either hijack the Back button or get terribly confused whether you want to pay again or why it can't display the contents of your empty basket.

On Google Translate, it's essential to be able to do this to flip back to previous translation attempts, because when you type text at the keypad the silly webpage takes every keypress as a new webpage in the stack, so you often have to go back 100 times just to get the previous successfully translated sentence.

The long-press back button no longer summons the tab's history on my Android phone or my Galaxy tab. Mozilla appears to have disabled this feature quite recently. I'm referring to the small arrow in the lower right-hand corner that you hit quickly to go back once. It was quite useful to do a long press on the arrow and have the history of the tab pop up in a list. You could then pick any page on the list and go directly back, skipping over all the other pages.

Please reinstate this useful feature?
