As of yesterday, Oct. 14, 2025, everything in my Firefox Bookmarks and History is gone. This is the message displayed: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." I have tried to recover them by different suggested means, but it would appear there is NOTHING to recover. Everything in Bookmarks says EMPTY, and I can no longer save any new Bookmarks, it just not allowed. How and why did this happen, and what am I supposed to do? I had hundreds of things Bookmarked, many of them were important to how I run my business, and now are seemingly all gone. This is very upsetting and would appreciate Mozilla getting this straighten out. I need and explanation and resolution.

How can I bring my bookmark toolbar back? It is on my Eset firefox page, but not on my firefox page. I'm running out of ways to get my bookmark pages back. Yes, I updated to Windows 11, now, I'm thinking that was a bad mistake. Help??? Thank you. Linda

Bonjour, J'ai essayé à plusieurs reprises d'installer Thunderbird (a chaque fois 1 don est requis) mais à chaque fois le même message s'affiche : "Le profil Thunderbird ne peut être chargé. Il est peut-être manquant ou inaccessible". Une première fois l'installation avait fonctionné mas j'ai essayé de modifier le profil afin qu'ils puissent reprendre le carnet existant sur mon ancien ordinateur. Aujourd'hui je suis bloqué. Avez vous 1 solution à me proposer ? Merci

On my windows 11 machine, Firefox requires me to re-log into my Mozilla account every few days (there is a yellow triangle on the Account extension, which when clicked, has me to log into my Mozilla account). I have tried several troubleshooting steps:

1) Create a new profile and set it as the default profile 2) Completely uninstall and reinstall Firefox using the steps in the following article, including removing user data. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer

I'm using Firefox on a Mac and my iPhone and I don't experience this issue. I am logged into my account on both devices.

It appears Windows 11 KB5065797 broke my Thunderbird. It will not start normally nor will it start in safe mode.

- I've updated to latest version 144.0 - I've tried starting in safe mode - I've tried running as administrator - Thunderbird shows in Processes, and displays suspended randomly - I've restarted Windows - I've cleared cache under users\x\appdata\local\thunderbird\profiles\x\cache2\entries\

while watching YouTube in direct mode ... F revert back to normal mode every time new advertisement cut into the flow I have to reselect picture-in-picture mode. Will work reliably till new advertisement

Hi I was using TB 142 without problems. When upgrading to 143 ou 144.B4 I have problems sending mails to all users after some times. Usually the first mails are sent immediatly but after around 10 mails, I have very slow response (varies from 5 sec to more than 1 minute and sometimes timeout). Usually quitting TB solves the problem but this is very annoying. I went back to 140LTS and sems to have no longer this problem. This was tested on many diffrent networks. I am running under Fedora release 42

This morning, Firefox updated automatically to Firefox 144. However, this update completely broke Firefox; every tab crashed, and I couldn't even use Firefox to get to this help site.

Changing my OS is not an option for me; those decisions are made far, far away. I was allowed to use Firefox instead of Chrome. Sadly, I have to switch over to Chrome today in order to work.  :(

I have WhatsApp Web pinned as a tab in Firefox, and other than that I also have a home page. Normally when I launched Firefox, only one window would open and it would have both the pinned whatsapp tab and the homepage in another tab.

Since today, now when I launch Firefox it opens two separate windows. One window only contains the pinned WhatsApp Web tab, and the other window contains the home page.

How can I make it so that when I launch Firefox only one window opens that contains both tabs? Please don't tell me this option has been inadvertently removed.... Thanks.

I can't open https://english.ahram.org.eg and https://gate.ahram.org.eg/ Someone knows why? Maybe it has something to do with the last update. I think I could open them some time ago. Thanks!

I seem to get really high CPU and memory usage only when I run youtube on Firefox. This issue never happened before. How can I fix this?

Just moved to W11 - initially I had to resolve the bookmarks functional error message - done, but I seem to have a long list of items suggesting many bookmark folders - with items that were just links to sites I had been on - and the original bookmarks folder I had created does not now appear?

Following help on here re bookmarks and history system non functionality - I have renamed files and deleted files such as favicons.sqlite etc etc - but that has not resolved any issues.

Not sure that explains it - hope you can help.

HI and thanks for any help.. I am Popping my gmail and several other non-google accounts. It has worked for years but now I can't pop any gmail after 10/10/25. The mail is there when I go to the gmail web page. It is trying to Pop it cause I can see the message on Thunderbird "there are no messages to download" from that account. I checked and there are no filters. I did a test email. It shows up in gmail but won't pop to my PC. all the other non-gmail accounts are working fine with new messages coming in. I checked all the subfolders and nothing there since 10/10. Any ideas? Thanks. Kevin Brand

Hello. I accidentally made multiple copies of one folder and some of its nested folders. I can't move them back because the copy was already found in the main file. How do I remove the duplicates?

I tried to add a new account with PROTON mail and it didn't accept it. Can it be done? Is there a problem? The goal is to have 2 accounts and not just one. Can you fix it?
