I do not like the way Yahoo mail works on Mozilla. Or anywhere else, really. Yahoo got rid of the banner at the top of the page. Theoretically, that should have left more room for messages. Did not work that way. There is now less room even after I signed up for Yahoo Plus and no ads. Then, if I add an attachment, the attachment takes up so much space that there's only two lines left to compose a text.

I get these messages saying that I have too many windows open. I never got those messages until Mozilla and Yahoo Mail became best buddies. One day I got that message and there was only ONE window open. I've had as many as 14 open on Internet Explorer and as many as 30 open on Opera and NEVER got such a message. Never happened with Mozilla either, until Mozilla and Yahoo Mail got to be best buddies.

You and Yahoo Mail are close enough now, you can pass this on to Yahoo Mail: I do not like being constantly hounded by Yahoo Mail to "upgrade" to Mozilla or Safari when I'm using Opera or IE. This is very irritating and makes me want to find a way to do without both of you.

Yahoo Mail now has a message space larger than the screen. I can just type on and on with it, and when I get a message from someone who has done that, I have to scroll to the right to read it and scroll to the left to start the next sentence. This is nuts!

I've been with Yahoo for years, but now that Mozilla and Yahoo have become best buddies, I'm not happy with either of you. You guys could learn a lot from Opera. Start with the way that Opera remembers the web site you closed so you can retrieve it if you made a mistake.

That's all for now. I may think of more later, but the electricity may go off any minute and I've gotta hit send before it does.

Thanks. Oh, one more thing. Contacting you guys like this; you didn't make it easy.

Hi Dragon, I think Yahoo is promoting a special bundle of Firefox with Yahoo add-ons. The main install that most people use is very tied in to Google and doesn't have those add-ons. But this isn't really about who is the best buddy, it's about how to make Yahoo mail less annoying for you.

I'm concerned about the message that you have too many windows open and wonder whether you can either grab a screen shot of that or write down the exact message. I suspect the problem isn't too many Firefox windows, but for some reason Yahoo thinks there is something suspicious about your connection?? Anyway, more info on that would be really helpful.

Meanwhile, to adjust the size of the display, have you tried zooming out? You zoom a site larger using Ctrl+ but you also can make it smaller using Ctrl- and hopefully that will help on Yahoo. This also works with the scroll wheel on the mouse: hold down the Ctrl key and scroll forward to enlarge and backwards to reduce. If things get crazy huge or tiny, press Ctrl+0 (that's a zero) to reset and start again.

Oh, about sites that you closed:

Check out the History menu. There is a list of recently closed windows and for the window you're currently in, a list of recently closed tabs in that window.

If you are in a window with multiple tabs and you just closed the wrong one, right-click another tab to find the Undo Close Tab command, or press Ctrl+Shift+t to do the same thing.

If you accidentally close the last Firefox window, when you restart Firefox, the History menu lets you restore your previous session.

So, Firefox has many ways to get back to a page you closed. Since nothing is foolproof, it's a good idea to bookmark things that you think you might want to come back to in the future.
