Copying text from inline viewed PDF to clipboard not possible - line break after each letter
Since the new Firefox 19 disabled Adobe as PDF viewer and started viewing them inline, I can no longer sensibly copy'n'paste text from PDFs ***that I could copy'n'paste from before***.
Now there seems to be a line break after each single letter. Not only the text is not formatted, it's not even continuous text that could be used somewhere else without heavy editing. I will gladly supply a sample document if it cannot be proven on any (I believe it can).

hello, firefox 19 has introduced its own integrated pdf viewer - if you want to switch back to the plugin you've used before to view pdfs just go to firefox options > applications & scroll down and define the default action for the portable document format (pdf).
PDF-Dateien in Firefox ansehen oder anderes Programm zur Ansicht wählen
Hi kleena,
Sorry you are having problems.
Possibly this happens on some but not all documents. For now the work around will be to use a plugin reader instead. Turn your Adobe reader back on. The instructions are best seen by reading the first article I have linked to
- PDF-Dateien in Firefox ansehen oder anderes Programm zur Ansicht wählen using-a-pdf-reader-plugin
- see also Das Adobe Reader-Plugin mit Firefox nutzen
- and full article PDF-Dateien in Firefox ansehen oder anderes Programm zur Ansicht wählen
It is possible this will be something that will get fixed in due course. It is probably worth watching other forum threads such as FF 19 and PDF viewer issue /questions/950946 for developments, and watching the KB articles for any revised advice.
Hello and thanks to both of you. Switching away from the inline viewer is a possible temporary workaround, but not my goal, of course (I could do that silently without posting here).
So I hope the problem will be fixed soon :)
