Every time I click for Firefox to open I get a blank page. If I click a second time it opens properly. I've messed with it for a while now, and can't seem to figure it out.

Are you possibly using "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" and also "Clear history when Firefox closes" ?

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data ->
    [ ] "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed"
  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" ->
    [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings

If you do then try to disable at least one of these.

If you do use "Clear history when Firefox closes" then what items are selected?

I chose to uncheck "Clear history when Firefox closes".

That did the trick!

The only box checked was "Clear history when Firefox closes". All of the other boxes under History were left unchecked.

This is about the Setting for "Clear history when Firefox closes". Settings is only enabled when this item has a checkbox, so you need to enable this temporarily to inspect.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history":
    [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings
