I pop my mail to thunderbird from yahoo mail. yahoo mail is working perfectly. I checked the account settings in thunderbird and they seem to be correct. When I open TB and click on get mail, nothing happens until a message pops up asking me to enter my yahoo.mail password. I do and nothing happens until another message pops up reading:

"Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded: (#AUTH701) Service is not available; please try again later."

As I said before, yahoo mail is working and I can send and receive mail with no problem.

What's wrond with TB?

You are seeing a message from the server which states very clearly that the service is currently not available. Pop and SMTP which you are using in Thunderbird has nothing to do accessing webmail in a browser.

I've been experiencing the same issue with BTinternet, but my incoming mail has just restarted coming in after a couple of hours and yehar as I type, my Outbox has finally managed to send as well.

So be patient, they probably have a tempory issue.
