The Chrome in Firefox has nothing to do with the completely separate Google Chrome web browser. The web browser we know as Firefox for desktop existed for over six years before Google Chrome did.

The chrome in Firefox is the part of the Firefox window that is not the content of the site you are viewing. So the window frame, toolbars, menus, etc.

userContent.css in the chrome folder is a CSS file that you can use to change the way web sites and e-mails look. http://kb.mozillazine.org/userContent.css

userChrome.css in the chrome folder is a CSS file that can be used to change the way Mozilla applications' interfaces look. http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css

If you say what you want to do, there are a few people here that are good at userContent.css that may be able to help you do what you want if possible.

In Firefox 69 and later you need to set this pref to true on the about:config page to enable userChrome.css (Firefox user interface) and userContent.css (webpages including about: pages) in the chrome folder.

Actually, userContent.css only works on Firefox (and some browsers derived from Firefox)

I think that continuing in the other thread would be a good idea, so I will lock this thread.
