Problem: different areas of the same domain requires unique passwords. eg example.com/admin1/ user: name example.com/admin2/ user: name

The user name is the same for both, are fixed and cannot be changed.

When I log in to admin1/ but then need to log in to admin2/ Firefox thinks I am updating my password used in admin1/ .

I have read question 1280159 (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1280159) which only partially solves it IF the user name can be modified.

How can i solved this without accidentally losing my password/s ?

Like written in that other question, Firefox can store individual logins for a real subdomain, but can't do this for individual file paths on the same domain what your question is about. You would have to use the workaround to distinguish the username via an extra addition (e.g. 1 and 2 in your example) and remove the username addition before submitting the form to make it work in your case.

Best is probably to create login block exception for this domain to prevent Firefox from updating the login.

With the block exception in place you need to edit an exiting login in case of an update or use "Create New Login" to add another username and password for this domain.

I am using packages/apps within NAS/Synology's DSM via the browser so the network address/top-level domain will be the same, these packages have fixed admin user names which are unfortuanately the same. I was hoping that Firefox had a solution. Thanks Cor-el, the blocking option is useful advice, but may become frustrating over time. I will see if I can create a 'sub' user with a different username in one of the packages and hopefully be able to give that user full privileges.
