I had to start FF in Safe Mode to stop it hanging, all my extensions were disabled,how can I restore my chosen colour to the toolbar background ?
MSW10 grays are very difficult for me and in W10 I had set up my Personal colour theme which, prior to today's FF restart in safe mode, rendered the FF toolbar in my chosen colour. I have tried to restore this colour using the FF customization option but with no result. I have also tried in W10 to re-apply my chosen colour. My W10 toolbar has retained my colour selection and my personal colour theme is still saved in W10,this suggests that I need to do something in FF to restore mychosen colour. The gray actually makes me feel nauseous. Additionally the FF extensions that I have tried to retore have not all installed, and I am concerned that I shall not be able to use FF easily anymore. I have little computer skill. Please help me. Thank you in anticipation.

Did you install a solid lightweight theme (Persona) to give a background color to the toolbar area?
You can check if you still have this theme and possibly select and enable this.

Firefox's Safe Mode doesn't allow you enable extensions. Or did you already exit out of Firefox and start it back up again normally?
