I'm on 10.0.5 ESR and was prompted to update to 10.0.6

The update failed and I restarted Firefox. Now I'm still on 10.0.5 but the update is not offered, and Help -> About Firefox doesn't say anything about an update.

I would just redownload and install Firefox 10.0.6 from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all.html. It's possible the updater got corrupted, so this is just the easiest solution.

I hung back from answering in case anyone else had a good answer, but my 10.5 failed to update. It is still offering to update but fails when tried. Update third time lucky, it has now updated ok

In my case I use 64 bit ubuntu, so have to use ftp downloads rather than http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all.html as that is apparently unable to provide 64bit downloads, it only provided 32 bit versions of Firefox. I have not as yet updated it.

Later on that day I got a popup offering 10.0.6 and this worked in the end. I was just baffled to be offered 10.0.6 but then finding that I couldn't get the update through "Help" "About FireFox".

I suppose it's a bit like missing a train. The next one comes along when it wants to, and you just have to wait.
